Functional testing

choose your lab(s)

Accessibility to functional labs is at your fingertips!  We will work together in a basic consultation to assess which labs will benefit you the most.

functional vs Medical

Functional vs Medical Labs

Medical lab results give you the ranges for ”normal” and “abnormal.” This  means “without or without disease.”

Functional lab ranges are within “optimal healthy living.”  The lens that we look through is one of “thriving” in health, not just “surviving from a disease.”

We also consider things such as hormonal fluctuations and metabolites (a fancy way of saying that we look at how your body is breaking things down).  We look beyond a fixed moment in time and consider the changes the body may go through throughout the day and sometimes even throughout the month.

Pick your labs

DUTCH (dried urine test for comprehensive hormones) with OATS

The DUTCH Complete is the most advanced hormone test, offering an extensive profile of sex and adrenal hormones and melatonin, along with their metabolites, to identify symptoms of hormonal imbalances. The DUTCH Complete is the most accurate test that provides a complete assessment of hormonal health. The results include: • Analysis of 35 different hormones: estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, and cortisol along with their metabolites • Daily free cortisol patterns to provide insight into adrenal insufficiency or symptoms of chronic stress • Graphical representation of results and embedded video tutorials • DUTCH OATs: 8-Hydroxy-2-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), melatonin (6-OHMS), and six organic acid tests (VMA, HVA, KYNA, MMA, Xanthurenate, Pyroglutamate)

GI Map Stool Test with Zonulin

The GI-MAP + Zonulin Test measures a variety of gastrointestinal microbiota DNA using qPCR technology. It detects microbial imbalance, microbes contributing to illness, and indicators of digestion, absorption, inflammation, and immune function. This test also includes an add-on for the leaky gut marker zonulin.

Array 10

This unique, revolutionary panel measures reactivity to 180 food antigens in the cooked, raw, modified or processed form on the same panel. Assists in early detection of dietary-related triggers of autoimmune reactivity and monitors the effectiveness of customized dietary protocols.

*Requires phlebotomy. Most communities have phlebotomy services, including at local hospitals. See if there’s a phlebotomy service near you.
